Synopsis

Lesson From Our Garden tells the story of Mélanie and Lucie, a queer couple seeking to become parents. Through their obstacles, the film becomes both a story of love and resilience, highlighting a journey often invisible: that of a lesbian, cis, and trans couple on a fertility path. It explores their ability to face difficulties, draw strength from their bond, and find meaning in this shared project, even if it means imagining other possibilities to achieve their goal. The film reveals a queer experience of parenthood that is rarely portrayed, while offering a universal reflection on the desire for parenthood, perseverance, and the many forms that family can take.

A word from Tënk

The paths to parenthood are diverse, both common and unique. Lesson From Our Garden tackles the still taboo subject of miscarriage, as a queer lesbian couple faces fertility challenges in their desire to become parents. An important story, filled with joy and love, captured by the caring gaze of the camera, which shows the couple's resilience, echoing that of nature and the culture of their garden.
