Together, they train, pass trials, meet setbacks and victories. The action sequences are captured in live cinema, that is, with a camera placed at the center of the scene, which lets events unfold in front of it and captures them as they happen. These sequences make it possible to identify each person's characters: here we find something of a well-crafted scenario: there is the shy, the young madman, the clumsy old man ... This is a first way of meeting the characters.

But the film, on closer inspection, is not all about live scenes. Several sequences bring together all the characters, for sometimes very intimate conversations. They sit together in the evening, or in the full sun, set in a circle in the grass. These are the times when we get to know them in a more frontal way, through word and testimony. They talk about their lives, their experiences of illness, their loves. These scenes, it is quite possible that Vincent Boujon, the director, provoked them, by bringing the characters together, perhaps by advising them to tackle such and such a subject… This is also the documentary staging!

But how is it that these men are reunited and a camera is there to film them? The answer is simple: everything is organized! It was the director who came up with the idea for the parachute jump course. Because he had the intuition that much stronger things could happen there than in simple interviews, and that, above all, this would allow the spectator to identify with the challenge launched, and thus to follow with passion these characters - and love them more!
It's all about the staging, even in a documentary!
