Emmanuel Bernier
Curator

“I am interested in cinema that puts the notion of language under tension. What comes before it, in childhood, in prehistory, and in pre-institutional audiovisual forms. And what, conversely, resists or obstructs words—and images—from expressing it.”
Initially trained in music during his youth, Emmanuel Bernier later shifted toward the social sciences and cinema in early adulthood. He joined the Tënk team in 2024, first as an assistant, then as head of acquisitions, and also programs an occasional film. In parallel, he practices ornithology and is developing a documentary project about a family of nocturnal owls and the idea of life narratives—both human and animal.
