Synopsis
To support his mother in Mexico, Angel, a nude dancer, turns the web into his new stage.
A word from Tënk
True to his approach, Eli Jean Tahchi offers an intimate documentary that shines a light on a sex worker, Angel Vargas—a fully realized, deeply self-assured individual who breaks the taboos surrounding his reality. The film takes a profoundly respectful look at this sensitive and authentic protagonist. In front of the director’s lens, and accompanied by the music of Frédérique Le Duc-Moreau, Angel Vargas dances and reveals himself with sincerity. A young Mexican immigrant living in Montreal, he opens the doors to his daily life and to a reality that remains far too often invisible. Behind the sometimes forced smile he offers to the men who pay to share a semblance of intimacy with him, Angel pursues a more personal goal: helping his mother. With her, he shares his life as a sex worker with remarkable transparency, contributing to the destigmatization of this reality.
