Synopsis

Beginning at the Doors of Hell, on the Path of the Burned, this tale is a dialog; an encounter between an entomologist, a professional curious, and a tiger, also known as Papilio canadensis or Canadian Tiger Swallowtail butterfly.

A word from Tënk

Today, about one third of insect species are threatened with extinction and every year about 1% more are added to the list. In 50 years, only half of them will remain, and in 100 years there will be none left. The proportion of insect species in decline is twice as high as that of vertebrates. How to integrate and react to such information? The writer Colette wrote, a long time ago: "Our difficult and troubled life needs more than ever serene images. More than ever we love a certain scientific romance, figured on the pages of beautiful entomologies, with all the trappings of an enchanting truth." This gentle film offers an opportunity to question our own survival as a species. It must be seen (with the family) since the serious, argumentative and anxiety-provoking educational discourse does not pass muster. All tigers will disappear.
