The Films of Alina Marazzi

Synopsis

Per Sempre (Forever) examines the reasons that spur certain women to choose a religious life within a monastic community. The film starts with the fundamental question that prompts the film director to confront this reality: how is it possible, today, for a woman to make an extreme and permanent choice, one that will last forever?

A word from Tënk

Once again, Alina Marazzi is interested in the world of women. But this time, she does not investigate social rights and gender parity. Instead, she decides to take her camera into the monasteries of Catholic nuns. Why do women decide to live "forever" in a monastery, in poverty, chastity and a community not accessible to men?

Alina Marazzi recounts this desire with respect, tenderness, discretion, tact and poetry.
