Synopsis
An indeterminate location, in summer. The inhabitants of a shared apartment ask themselves where they might live. They imagine countries, communities and places. Time passes and nothing can change that, neither human action nor objects and their condition. At some point, they all drift into a deep sleep.
A word from Tënk
Here, gestures are memories
The camera pan recalls Akerman
The light invokes Weerasethakul
If the apartment is a place of cohabitation
The film’s space becomes a meditative journey
Gentle and sublime
Like the protagonists, we sink into a trance
Cinema keeps its promise of refuge
Yet the depth of sleep
Stands in contrast with our present reality
A heavy powerlessness has set in
Lightness has vanished.
Is it still possible to sleep, to dream?
The sound of a marching crowd wakes us up
